REDS directly connected to the logsaw
Dealing with logs prevents acceleration of the product which would be necessary to sub-divide and count the individual rolls. Also maintaining the configuration in exit (adjacent rolls) favours stability of the product on the conveyor – the tendency to tip that manifests in the passage from one conveyor to another is contrasted.

The REDS is a simple transferer/diverter: product configuration, production
speed, initial space between the logs, are determined by the upstream log-saw.
The division in percentage of the product on the two exits takes place automatically
on the sensors located along the downstream line: if the signals indicate progressive saturation of a line in exit from the REDS it tends to privilage the other, until complete saturation of all exits.
Movement of the mobile belts takes place simultaneously and can be done using:
• pneumatic cylinders
• motorisations with mechanical intermitter/oscillator units
• motorisations with connecting rod/crank systems
A
system to control correct roll advancement and their presence on the arms is envisioned on every infeed lane.
