A unit that applies a rotation of 90 degrees to the product around a vertical axis is defined as a pack rotation unit.

The pack rotating unit is typically used in the following contexts:

* at the outfeed of film wrappers to orientate the product, with prevalently transversal development, aligning the longer side with the direction of travel of the conveyor;
* in front of handling machines to allow correct orientation of the pack before it enters the handling machine itself;
* to restore the correct orientation of the pack along the conveyor at the outfeed of the handling machine.
