A unit that applies a rotation (in general 90 degrees) to the product around a horizontal axis parallel to the direction of transport is defined as a pack upender unit.

| PACK UPENDER UNIT WITH TWO BELT CONVEYOR |
|
|

This unit is used to rotate of 90° the product around a horizontal axis parallel to the direction of transport.
The unit is composed by two paraller belt conveyors, one of which (hinged downstream) is lowered.
The pack falls for gravity it rests on the side on the lowest belt conveyor that takes it upwards to the starting level.
By placing the inclined belt conveyor in a horizontal position the unit becomes
neutral (by-pass position).

| PACK UPENDER UNIT WITH ROUND BELT |
|

The double pack upender unit with round belt is a device to rotate packs around an axis parallel to in-feed direction.

|
| PACK UPENDER UNIT GRAVITY CHAIN TO CHAIN CONVEYOR |
|

The pack, transported by a chain, turns and falls onto another conveyor positioned at the side and below (re-ascent is managed along the length of the line and not on a brief tract as in the pack upender unit with two belts).

| HELIX PACK UPENDER UNIT |
|

The pack upender is a unit that rotates the product of 90° along an axis parallel to the travel direction.
The pack, coming from the line upstream, is transported through polycord round belts.
The drive and idler rollers supporting the polycord, are mounted on a central shaft, positioned in a helix-like shape.
With this configuration the pack is constantly accompanied during rotation
and does not need changeovers when changing from one format to another.
